Better Late Than Never

A very belated happy new year to you all. I trust you all had a great Christmas break!

It’s still January 2019 so I’d like to share a summary about last year.

It was a very full on year with many new things, challenges, travel and doors closing and opening.

It wasn’t the year I was expecting when I set out but I’m happy with the person I became as a result.

1. I moved flats in January and then unexpectedly again in October.

2. My health is improving, closer to remission. I attribute this to cutting back on stress and using the law of attraction to change my beliefs around living with cancer.

3. I had to stop working part time in the office due to medical reasons so went back on full insurance claim.

4. I moved to the acting division with my talent agent. I was submitted for a few acting roles and had one background extra gig. My day job, health and travel did limit my availability a lot. I re joined Star Now and applied a lot but just one self test audition.

Training and talent but not experienced in the acting business meant my applications got viewed and I didn’t progress so I often felt disheartened by this.

5. Took more improv and clowning classes plus a storytelling workshop.

6. I performed as a storyteller in Sydney Fringe in September in a friend’s show.

7. Joined an online business. I got into debt (some what manageable), made many new friends and left the business after five months. I had to sell my investment at a huge loss as I needed the cash for my Christmas break back home.

I did all the right things if not more than expected but I was doing it alone on a smaller budget and with my health it was particularly challenging but I do not regret it as I had a lot of spiritual and emotional growth.

8. I got myself an amazing manifestation coach and did a 12 week course. I have lifetime access to all these amazing tools and know my goals will manifest into reality. The timeframe for the bigger goals is just different to what I originally expected due to resistance and abundance blocks (they are real I tell you!)

9. Went to Adelaide in March to see my Grandfather on my late Father’s side and went to a few shows at the Adelaide Fringe.

10. Grandpa passed a few days before I was due to visit New Zealand for my Mother’s 65th birthday. Unfortunately I missed the funeral as I was in NZ.

11. I applied to a few modeling agencies as plus size model using two professional modeling photos I took in October. Suffice to say I didn’t hear back. I’m proud of myself for applying despite age, health and weight. I did my research first of course!

12. I traveled to NYC for my birthday in April. In the same trip I went to Chicago for improv and catch up’s with friends then onto Minneapolis to see friends.

13. I spent 2 and a half weeks in NZ from 11-29 December for a Living Colour concert (4th time seeing them and shouted Mum for early Christmas! ) and Christmas with the family. This time we were all together which was a lot of fun.

14. Had a lovely quiet New Years Eve at a friend’s place in Sydney.

15. Went to several concerts in Sydney. I saw Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin) when Mum visited in March, Roger Waters (Pink Floyd), David Byrne (Talking Heads), Foo Fighters with Weezer, TLC with Boyz II Men, Alanis Morisette (acoustic!), Sheryl Crow with Melissa Etheridge. There might have been more but that’s what I remember!

16. For now from 30th December I’m basically alcohol and mostly coffee and mostly refined sugar free due to the side effects of the long term meds on my kidneys plus still vegan. This was because I had a random yeast issue with the skin on my back that had to do with sugar, yeast etc in my diet plus my face gets burnt up and red when I touch alcohol now and sometimes with too much coffee. I had to do something from the inside out.

17. I had a few pretty bad colds and plenty of rest, stress and unpacking. My family have their health issues too and I often felt powerless to assist. I can help with advice which Mum appreciates but I had hoped to make more money and provide more financial support. I sometimes forget to look after number one as well. I want everyone to be happy!

As usual acupressure, acupuncture, Osteo and support from friends, family and my therapist helped enormously!

No one person can do this alone and some of us take on a lot but I believe we only take on what we can handle!

Here’s to 2019!
